Leonardo Godoy-Müsham and the infinite space
| From his background in architecture, Leonardo Godoy-Mühsam
has inherited an astonishing sense of textures and volumes. Renouncing
to the traditional conventions of geometrical representations, Leonardo
Godoy-Mühsam suggests three dimensional images on a flat surface
through a subtle use of colours, light and textures, source of a very
expressive sensuality. In between abstraction, representation and
concept, in between gestural and colour-field painting, an original
language emerges to tell the poetry of an infinite world. Leonardo Godoy-Mühsam creates specific urban elements to initiate a broader space with undefined boundaries. These elements are more or less formalised, more or less finalised, from sketch to representation. His artworks suggest multiple reading across the open linen surface, with profound contradicting perspectives and opposing volumes. The artist brings together lines and colour fields to give his vision of infinity, as a perpetual construction and dilution. | ![]() 'Fierro y litoral' by Leonardo Godoy-Mühsam |
