Gregory Mardon's art is about revealing the hidden side of people's life. Gregory uses his fantastic drawing technique to capture snapshots of people's intimacy. He is a hidden witness, an observer acting incognito. He is rich of stolen secrets. By reporting his findings, Gregory makes the spectator his accomplice. This forced connivance generates discomfort. One becomes a kind of paparazzi, a voyeur. In some drawings, Gregory pushes this discomfort further when he sets the character as an exhibitionist. Erotism is a recurring theme within Gregory Mardon's art. Whether he depicts loneliness, depression or even crimes, women sensuality is central. Gregory loves to draw beautiful women with a disturbing attitude, as if beauty can never be pure and innocent. There is a hint of Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele in his drawings. Gregory Mardon is 35 and lives in Paris. He is graduated from Les Gobelins Art School in Paris. He shares his time between producing drawings for his art and writing illustrated novels. Over the last six years he has published five books with the prestigious publisher Editions Dupuis. His books are an extension of his drawings, where he can tell the full story behind the snapshot. Gregory Mardon's pieces are original drawings that have been scanned and then digitally colored. They are digital artworks. Gregory uses giclée printing, considered as the best digital print technique, to guarantee the most accurate colours. All prints are limited editions of 50, signed and numbered.
