Yash Godebski, d'ombre et de lumi
ère

Yash Godebski is a figurative painter whose work depicts our modern environment and highlights its poetry behind the apparent dullness. Working from memory, without using photographs, Yash Godebski mimics some of the old masters of cinema film techniques in the way he chooses his angles of view and the depth of his shots.  Dominated by light and perspectives, his artworks are like magnified snapshots revealing the true nature of our civilisation, where human being have become insignificant. Like paintings by Edward Hopper, his art carries a deep poetry of silence and loneliness.

Yash Godebski (b. 1967) lives between Paris and Nimes in the South of France. He is graduated from Met de Penningen art school in Paris. Yash Godebski has performed numerous solo exhibitions in various galleries since 1990 in France, Germany and the Netherlands. He has also participated to several group exhibitions including 'Les Rencontres Electroniques' at Centre Beaubourg-George Pompidou in 1999. Yash Godebski is represented in the UK by The French Art Studio and has participated to the group show 'Connexion' in London in 2007.
