Delphine Vincent, la beauté du verbe

Delphine Vincent lives in Paris. She is a painter as well as a poet. She likes to create pieces of art that intrigue and invite to stop and think. Playing with subtle material effects and finely balanced graphic design, her art generates a deep sense of calm and harmony.

Delphine is a contemplative who enjoys sharing her serenity without taking herself too seriously. She is passionate about literature. She loves words for the idea they carry - whether it is philosophical or just funny. She loves words for the way they look and feel when they are written. Each letter is an entity with its own character, its own colour. Giving space to words, she enables ideas to fly freely, whilst remaining elegantly organised, like a well articulated thought. This is what Delphine is ultimately searching for, what she calls "la beauté du verbe".

Delphine's art follows the path of some traditional Chinese painters who conceived art as a philosophy, combining painting with written poetry. Like On Karawa and Jenny Holzer, Delphine takes a minimalist approach to convey subtle sensations and profound ideas.

Delphine was born in 1965 in Paris. She has a degree in Communication from La Sorbonne University in Paris, and has worked as a TV producer and a fashion designer before becoming a full time painter several years ago. She has lived in various places abroad, including New York, London and Lisbon, and these urban experiences have influenced her creations. Delphine has done several exhibitions in Paris, and has participated to multiple group shows with The French Art Studio in the UK since 2007.

Delphine works with mixed media, combining acrylic painting on canvas and sculpted letters.
